CINCINNATI – Hamilton County Democratic Party Chairwoman Gwen McFarlin released the following statement on the 2024 election results: “I want to personally thank all those who ran for office. We re-elected Greg Landsman to Congress in the 1st District, a feat that many thought could not be done. His victory marked the third time a Democrat has won the US Congressional District in Cincinnati since 1949. Greg believes he won because voters, “want leaders who focus on the issues that matter the most to them,” and not chaos and extremism. Congratulations to Connie Pillich, the first Democrat elected to County Prosecutor in 92 years and the first woman elected as Hamilton County Prosecutor. Rep. Rachel Baker, Karen Brownlee and Virginia Tallent won their competitive races. We elected judges who will protect our rights and our safety at the Hamilton County Courthouse. And our County Commissioners, Sheriff, Clerk of Courts, Treasurer, Auditor, Cororner and Recorder won handily showing voters are pleased with their hard work on behalf of all Hamilton County residents. These victories would not have happened without our volunteers. Thank you to every person who registered their neighbors to vote, knocked on doors, wrote postcards and made phone calls in support of our HCDP endorsed candidates. I want to thank our local media who covered the election in a civil and professional manner. Finally, I would also like to thank Hamilton County election officials for their work to facilitate another free and fair election. The national and statewide results were a profound disappointment. The work is never finished. We will continue to fight for Justice and freedom for our communities.” ### |
